According to national research the most popular social network web site is Facebook. Is your business using Facebook in Orlando?In August 2009 research reports the largest users are their primary 18 to 25 year olds. The secondary audience ranges in age between 26 to 34 years of age. Combined the two demographics make up 51% of the site’s total visitor traffic.

When Facebook started their site it was known as the college social network, in recent years it has been successful in expanding its primary audience and visitor base. Nielsen Research estimated in June 2009 that Facebook’s audience totaled more than 87 million people compared with less than 63 million visitors that visited MySpace.

Detailed analysis reported by Facebook showed the fastest-growing users in August 2009 were males that were between the ages of 13 to 17 that increased 15%. Men ages 45 to 54 grew 13%. Women ages 45 to 65 grew almost 12%.

In summary,females outnumber males in every age category. In August 2009 about 45.4 million Facebook visitors were women, compared to 34.3 million that were men.
